CNE: President Maduro was re-elected with 6,408,844 votes (+second bulletin)

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, was re-elected, according to 96.87% of the minutes counted, on July 28 thanks to the vote of 6 million 408 thousand 844 Venezuelans, representing 51.95% of the votes, reported the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso.

During the reading of the second electoral results bulletin, Amoroso explained that the Head of State's closest competitor was Edmundo González Urrutia, who obtained 5 million 326 thousand 104 votes, equivalent to 43.18%.

Meanwhile, the other opposition candidates obtained the following numbers of votes: Luis Eduardo Martínez, 152 thousand 360 votes, equivalent to 1.24%; Antonio Ecarri, 116 thousand 421 (0.94%); Bejamín Rausseo, 92 thousand 903 (0.75%); José Brito, 84 thousand 231 (0.68%); Javier Bertucci 64 thousand 452 (0.52%); Claudio Fermín, 40 thousand 902 (0.33%); Enrique Márquez, 29 thousand 611 (0.24%); Daniel Ceballos, 20 thousand 452 (0.52%); Claudio Fermín, 40 thousand 902 (0.33%); Enrique Márquez, 29 thousand 611 (0.24%); Daniel Ceballos, 20 thousand 452 (0.52%) 16%).

Amoroso, explained that during this electoral process, 12 million 335 thousand 884 valid votes were received, equivalent to 99.59% of the total number of participants in the electoral event. In the same way, he explained that 59.97% of those registered in the Permanent Electoral Register participated in this process.

He also denounced that the delays in the transmission of the minutes have been caused by computer sabotage to the CNE network and terrorist aggression, including the burning of regional electoral offices, voting centers and transmission centers, to the infrastructure of the Electoral Power.

“The Electoral Power thanks the People of Venezuela for the profound demonstration of democratic education expressed in the presidential elections of July 28,” he said.
