The Electoral Power repudiated, this Thursday, the recent interventionist statements of the United States Department of State in which it expresses insolent and false questions against the National Electoral Council (CNE).
In this regard, the Commission said in a statement that it “cannot assume or take responsibility” for the personal incapacities of some individuals, who seek to place their interests above national legality, believing themselves to be anointed only by the design of an external power.
Below is the full statement:
The Electoral Power of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the insolent and false questioning of the Department of State of the United States of America regarding the National Electoral Council, in order to discredit one of the strongest institutions of robust Venezuelan democracy, INHERITANCE OF THE DEMOCRATIC DOCTRINE OF OUR LIBERATING FATHER Simon Bolivar, on which Venezuelan voters have placed their trust in recent decades.
Venezuelan democracy is based on a series of highly advanced pillars, including its electoral system, which has demonstrated over the last few years, the broadest standards of professionalism and security, in contrast to THE OBSOLETE AND INEFFICIENT ELECTORAL SYSTEM OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WHICH CEDES ITS POWERS TO A WELL-KNOWN AMERICAN TELEVISION NETWORK, incapable of PROCESSING AND broadcasting accurate and RELIABLE results accepted by all voters.
This coming July 28, Venezuela will hold its 31st election in the last 25 years. Venezuelans will choose their president from a total of 13 registered candidates, nominated by 37 organizations and political parties, a fabulous demonstration of the POLITICAL and ideological diversity of the political offer in our country. The nomination of the candidates has been successfully completed, carried out by the own will of each of the registered organizations for political purposes.
The National Electoral Council CANNOT ASSUME OR BE RESPONSIBLE FOR the personal incapacities of some individuals, who seek to place their interests above national legality, believing themselves to be anointed only by the design of an external power. Any application must have the support of registered political organizations or the will of a significant group of voters. It will not be the boldness of the U.S. State Department that determines the processes to follow in our prestigious electoral system.
The people of Venezuela will elect their president in a free and sovereign manner through an impeccable and reliable system. Any attempt to interfere in this process will be confronted with determination, guaranteeing the reflection of the will of the Venezuelan people, who in a sovereign manner will continue to advance in the consolidation of the Bolivarian homeland enshrined in our Constitution.
