The National Electoral Council (CNE) has been the subject of a new cyber attack against outreach centers, where the official website is hosted, with IP addresses hosted outside of Venezuela, despite the fact that earlier its technical staff had re-established the hosting of the page.

This incident has been technically identified as a denial of service attack, whose objective is to saturate telecommunications links, to affect access to the website, the Venezolana de Televisión website reported.

After an exhaustive analysis of qualified personnel, it has been determined that these attacks come from IP addresses located abroad, indicating that this is an attack directed from outside the country.

The technical staff of the Electoral Power is working to mitigate the effects of this new attack, in order to restore service as soon as possible.

Earlier this Monday, August 26, Internet users reported that the CNE website could be viewed on its regular site.

However, soon after the new cyber attack occurred, such as those that occurred in the context of the cyberfascist coup attempt carried out by the country's extreme right on July 28, 29 and 30, after presidential elections in which the head of state, Nicolás Maduro, won.
