Collective exhibition “Struggle, Culture and
History” was inaugurated this Thursday, October 16, in the spaces of the Red
Foundation for Art and Bookstores of the South, located in the Niño Simón Commune in
San Carlos, Cojedes state.
The exhibition, which will be available throughout the
month of October, combines artisanal talent with literary richness and presented
12 pieces of wristwear made by master artisans Erika Bella Rosa,
Angelina Rodríguez, Antonia Reina and Carmen Sanoja.
Popular art was also represented
by the tappara craftsmanship of the creator Yeiris Flores and the basketry of the
cultor Simón Herrera, who showed the versatility of natural materials.
In parallel with the artisanal exhibition, the Librería del Sur
Foundation highlighted the importance of literature and oral
heritage, through the presentation of three titles that delve into Venezuelan
roots: “The Yucca and the Maize Men”, “Shuksha Boro, the
First Monkeys” and “Iwariwe, the Fire Keeper”.
This double day of art and letters,
promoted by the Niño Simón Commune, underlines the commitment to the dissemination of
the country's culture, history and ancestral identity.
