A working meeting was held this Tuesday, September 16, with the ambassadors of Colombia, Cuba, Bolivia, Mexico and Brazil accredited to Venezuela, who ratified their commitment to peace and sovereignty in the Caribbean, said the Deputy Minister for Latin America and the Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America — Peoples Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), Rander Peña.

In his account on the social network Telegram, Peña explained that “in this space we share the seriousness of recent events in the Caribbean, particularly the aggression suffered by the small tuna boat Carmen Rosa”.

He stated that during the meeting, they expressed their deep concern at the persistent and disproportionate military deployment of the United States in the region, which they consider to be a direct threat to stability and peace in the Caribbean.

They also reiterated their firm commitment to the defense of International Law, respect for the sovereignty of Peoples and the preservation of peace in the Caribbean and throughout Our America.

He emphasized that “these events should alert us to the risks generated by unilateral and arbitrary actions, which seriously endanger regional peace.”

This action reaffirms its integrationist vocation and its call to the international community to act responsibly, to promote dialogue, cooperation and mutual respect as fundamental pillars for peaceful coexistence between nations.
