Colombia: President Petro proposes at the UN a global army to rebuild Gaza

This Monday, President Gustavo Petro that his government will present to the United National Organization (UN) a resolution aimed at “building a world army for the reconstruction of Gaza”, following the signing of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS).

The statements of the New Granada president coincide with the confirmation of the release of the last detainees in the Gaza Strip, including a Colombian citizen.

Petro, warned of the serious state in which the Palestinian enclave finds itself after more than two years of incessant military offensive and has highlighted the urgent need for its reconstruction.

“Colombia's Special Assets Company (SAE) will allocate part of the gold seized to drug traffickers for the medical care of injured children,” said the president.
