Colombia: Senator Cepeda extends lawsuit against Duque over the purchase of Pegasus spyware

The Colombian senator, Iván Cepeda, announced that he presented before the Legal Commission for Investigation and Accusations of the House of Representatives of Congress he extended his complaint against former President Iván Duque for the facts that came to light regarding the purchase of Pegasus spyware.
On September 25, Cepeda analyzed that it is “essential to investigate whether the former president allowed the use of this software to intercept private communications in Colombia, without due legal controls. In addition, the complaint requests to verify possible abuses of authority, embezzlement of funds and human rights violations, which could imply criminal responsibility for the former president.”
The Colombian senator announced the extension of the complaint through social networks “I made the decision to file an extension of the complaint against former President Iván Duque with regard to the events of Operation Pegasus before the investigative commission of the House of Investigation”.
“In recent weeks, details of this operation have become known. One of them is precisely the circumstances, the names and the crew of the plane through which the purchase of that intelligence platform would have been made effective,” he said
He also added that direct information has been released from the company NSO Group, which confirms what the president had already said regarding this operation, he said and added that all these recently exposed details must be investigated.
