The Bolivarian government announced the construction of the Columna 1814 foundational monument, a piece of art that will be erected at the Montaña Fresca dealer, as a symbol of the urban advance of Maracay, the capital city of the state of Aragua.

The work of the artist Javier Miranda is a representation of the elevation of Maracay to the category of city, decreed by Simón Bolívar on January 22 , 1814, and consists of a 12-meter sculpture that will stand out for the chromatic combination of yellow and red, representing a key milestone in the renovation of the capital of Aragüeña.

Mayor Rafael Morales explained that the installation of the monument is part of the recovery and beautification work carried out by its management in nerve areas of Maracay, where significant changes are already being seen in terms of roads and ornamentation.

The structure will be interactive, with an ascending shape that guides from the base to the sky, inviting citizens to experience and inhabit it as a meeting point and local pride.
