The Commander of the Integral Defense Operational Zone (ZODI) No. 83 of Miranda state, Carlos Aigster Villamizar, confirmed the activation of a wide deployment in the coastal municipalities of the Barlovento axis of the Mirandina entity, within the framework of the “Defense of Costa Independencia 200" Exercise.

The Commander explained during a live contact with the Sectorial Vice President of Defense and Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, that the high-level exercises were carried out in the municipalities of Andrés Bello, Páez, Pedro Gual and Brión, covering all 167 kilometers of coastline in the region.

“The primary objective is to achieve the optimal point of preparation of the State for any threat, guaranteeing the protection of constitutional rights and allowing the free and normal development of citizen activities in the eight strategic areas,” he said.

He also asserted that the deployment took place in a perfect Civic-Military-Police merger for Defense.

He reported that the following were strategically activated: 3 Observation and Early Warning Points and 6 Air Defense Mixed Fire Points, in conjunction with the Rapid Reaction Units for coastal patrolling.

He stated that it is a joint effort in which the Communes, Militia, Community Fishermen's and Fishermen's Circuits, Citizen Security Agencies and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) actively participate.

Commander Aigster Villamizar stressed that this integration seeks to provide peace, tranquility and calm to the people of Miranda, always remaining in active resistance and permanent offensive. “The Costa Defense Exercise is crucial to the nation's security and sovereignty,” he added.
