Congresswoman Asia Villegas: Women's vote consolidated the presence of women in spaces of popular choice

The vote of Venezuelan women helps to consolidate the presence of women in spaces of popular election, thus guaranteeing the right to participatory and leading democracy, said the deputy to the National Assembly, Asia Villegas.

According to a note from the Legislative Branch, the parliament held, this Sunday, that the participation of Venezuelan women in five states, such as Sucre, Aragua, Nueva Esparta, Delta Amacuro and Bolívar, is part of the vanguard of the revolution as builders and guarantors of the future of the country.

He highlighted that in the more than 285 popular elected positions for the National Assembly (AN) and Legislative Councils, in the country's 24 states, women's decision-making consolidates the process of joint transformation in a sovereign, free and independent way, “where one woman arrives, we all arrive,” she said.

Villegas assured that democracy in the country is solid, committed to peace, and continues to dignify the historic flag of struggle of Venezuelan women, “it is in these spaces that we hear the proposals that allow us to make decisions for the development and growth of the country,” she said.
