The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, through the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC), informs the Venezuelan people and the international community about the criminal attack perpetrated against the National Electric System (SEN) by the United States on January 3, a planned maneuver that led to the kidnapping of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the first lady, Cilia Flores.

The event has seriously damaged the Panamericana 69 kV and Escuela Militar 4.8 kV substations, leaving the OAM-Vega Caricuao-Panamericana 1 and 2 69 kV and Junquito-Panamericana 1 and 2 69 kV lines out of service.

CORPOELEC highlights that, thanks to the immediate and committed intervention of its workers, it has been possible to restore the electrical infrastructure of Granada, Caricuao, Paraíso, Pinar and Candilito.

Repair work continues in Rincón, Escuela Militar, Chaguaramo, Santa Monica, Colinas de Santa Mónica, Coche and Metro La Paz, with the objective of ensuring the normalization of electrical service in affected areas.
