Venezuelan Badminton won the gold and silver medals at the International Junior Badminton Regatta Tournament in Peru. The athletes Mariangel García, Fabricio Rodríguez and Luis Martínez were responsible for placing at the top of the podium.
According to the press department of the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports, García won the gold medal in the women's U-19 category by beating María Betancourt with a score of 21-12 and 21-10.
In addition, the athlete Luis Martínez won a silver medal in the U-17 division of the sports tournament. For their part, the couple formed by Fabricio Rodríguez and Luis Martínez, fell to the Peruvian team with a score of 19-21 and 17-21, and won a silver medal. The mixed doubles couple, José Pereira and Mariangel García, also won the silver medal after giving in against Colombian representatives Nicolás Morales and Laura Galeano.
