Criollo Anthony Santander wins the Luis Aparicio Award

Venezuelan player Anthony Santander won the Luis Aparicio Award in its 21st edition this Saturday, October 26. The recognition is due to having become the most outstanding in the major leagues during the 2024 season.

The native of Nueva Esparta took a considerable advantage against Luis Arráez and scored 440 points that earned him first place. Santander averaged 2,235 and a total of 44 home runs and 71 extra bases and 102 RBIs, numbers that placed it as the top favorite for the prize.

Receiver William Contreras and rookie outfielder Jackson Chourio of the Milwaukee Brewers placed third and fourth, respectively, and veteran receiver and designated hitter Salvador Perez of the Kansas City Royals in fifth place.
