The Government of Cuba requested this Thursday before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) the application of legal measures against countries complicit in the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
The Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo, asked that the ICJ “not only rule on the legal consequences for Israel for such acts and practices that violate international law, but also to point out the serious legal consequences that exist for its accomplices.”
During her presentation at the ICJ hearing on the death of almost 30,000 Palestinians, the diplomat indicated that Cuba, together with other countries, expect the international body to offer a statement that is “solid, transparent, forceful, coherent and in defense of international law.”
He also stressed that the Court's analysis must be “up to the historic and very serious moment we are experiencing”, while reiterating that the United Nations (UN) “has failed to guarantee the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people”.
