The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, met in Geneva with the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), António Guterres, to denounce the restrictions imposed by the United States on oil imports to the island.

Rodríguez stressed that these measures affect energy supply and reiterated Cuba's support for multilateralism and the role of the United Nations.

During the meeting, he warned about the geostrategic reconfiguration promoted by the US doctrine of imposing stability through the use of force, with effects on the Global South. Both agreed on the need to expand international cooperation.

The minister also spoke at the Human Rights Council, where he stated that Washington applies “collective punishment” through an energy blockade. At the Conference on Disarmament, he warned of the expansion of nuclear arsenals and the increase in military spending.
