Cuba Denounces U.S. Plan to Seize Venezuelan Oil

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, denounced that the United States intends to hide its true objective of appropriating Venezuela's oil reserves through unfounded accusations about links to drug trafficking.

Rodríguez stated that the so-called Cartel of the Suns is an invention of the U.S. government and its Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, with the objective of justifying violent actions against the Bolivarian Government and expanding its armed offensive in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Deputy Foreign Minister, Carlos Fernández de Cossío, had previously warned that a possible military aggression by Washington against Caracas would attempt to overthrow President Nicolás Maduro by force.
