Thousands of citizens participated in a march at the José Martí Anti-Imperialist Tribune to pay tribute to the 32 Cuban fighters killed in Venezuela during the U.S. military aggression of January 3.
The demonstration reiterated its rejection of Washington's actions and reaffirmed Cuba's determination to safeguard its independence. The participants also expressed their opposition to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States and to the recent threats against the island.
The participants paraded through several streets of the capital carrying flags and banners, while chanting slogans such as “Down with Imperialism”, “Cuba Yes, Yankees No”, “Give Back President Maduro” and “Justice for the Fallen”.
Young people, workers, students, scientists and representatives of the cultural sector led the mobilization, which reiterated the rejection of foreign interventionism and the defense of national sovereignty, Telesur reported.
