Cuba stands in solidarity with Mexico after the derailment of the Interoceanic train

The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, expressed his condolences to the People of Mexico this Sunday after the derailment of a train in the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

“We send heartfelt condolences to the Mexican people and Government. All our solidarity,” said the president through his account on the social network X.

The accident occurred this Sunday morning in the community of Nizanda, Oaxaca. As reported by the Secretariat of the Navy, the train, which was running on Line Z of the Salina Cruz to Coatzacoalcos route, was derailed with 250 people on board. Of which nine were part of the crew.

According to the latest official report from the Navy, the accident left 13 people dead and 98 injured.
