As part of the intense days of
debate and reflection convened by President Nicolás Maduro, through the
Great National Congress of the Bolivarian Historical Bloc, various cultural movements and
spokespersons participated in a General Assembly to
systematize the proposals of the cultural sector.
According to information from Venezolana de
Televisión, from the Juan Bautista Plaza room of the National Library, the cultural
authorities present reported that more than 110
days of debates and meetings have been held at the national level, with the active participation of cultural educators and promoters
from each region.
The Minister of Popular Power for
Culture, Ernesto Villegas, celebrated President Nicolás Maduro's call for collective debate and construction of the political,
social and cultural model that future generations will star.
“This call is part of the path
of collective dreaming and cultures cannot be absent in the face of the
paradigms of science and technology that lead to a profoundly unhappy society.
Our identity and Venezuelanism make us stronger every day,
” he said.
He pointed out that the purpose is to consolidate the future
of a country beyond the existence of the current generation. “This exercise
of collectively building the dream of a Venezuela of the future allows us to
face with greater clarity and efficiency the problems we carry with us from the
past and the present,” he said.
He reaffirmed that it is “a privilege that we
have been summoned by the Bolivarian Revolution in this time of difficulties and
complexities to dream of that Venezuela that we are going to leave to our sons and
daughters, in a fully culturally decolonized Venezuela in 2054 and beyond.”
He highlighted the importance of the People taking ownership of
the 8 vertices of the Great Viva Venezuela Mission, and urged
new tasks for the coming years.
“In the coming years, we have to set ourselves concrete goals so that our music, songs, dances and rhythms with traditional Venezuelan roots, handicrafts, the festivities of San Juan and San Pedro, and all the demonstrations do not disappear,” he said.
