Cultivators celebrate 403 years since the founding of Guarenas

With a tour in which traditional dances and music were performed to enhance local identity, cultivators and heritage bearers celebrated the 403rd anniversary of the founding of the city of Guarenas, in the Plaza municipality, in the state of Miranda, as part of this important date for the inhabitants of the town.

The tour began at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Copacabana and continued along Ambrosio Plaza street, in front of Plaza Bolívar de Guarenas, where various cultural expressions such as the Burras and Burriquitas, the Old Woman of Guarenas, the parrandas of San Pedro , said the vice-governor of the Plaza-Zamora axis, Antonio Galíndez.

“Today, February 14th, we are joining the people of Guarenas in the traditional calendar to celebrate 403 years of our combative land. Long live Guarenas!” , he said.

It is important to remember that the city of Guarenas was founded on February 14, 1621, and is recognized as a region that marked transcendence in the history of Venezuela due to its struggles and battles for independence.
