Daniela Rivera gave Venezuela the first gold in sailing competitions, in the regional dinghy category, a crew member, overcoming her rivals, thanks to her winning consistency, accumulating seven victories in the Central American and Caribbean Games on the shores of Playa Salinas in Santo Domingo.
The Venezuelan won 70% of the preliminary races (4P, 5P, 6P, 8P, 9P, 10P and F1), totaling 19 net points and 23 totals that secured her the top of the competition and qualification for the 2027 Pan American Games.
Rivera's worst result in the entire tournament was just a fourth place in the seventh race, in contrast to Trinidadian Kelly Arrindel, who supported her with 24 net and 30 total, after winning three first places and four third places. The bronze medal went to Colombian Ana Bermúdez with 28 net and 41 total.
