The elections this Sunday, May 25, went completely normally, without any incident, said Defense Minister G/J Vladimir Padrino López.
“Operation Republic is running smoothly. We have seen how the polling stations were set up early without problems, the members of the FANB having been present at the polling stations for a week,” he said, while recalling that the military institution has more than 412,000 officials deployed to guarantee peace in the electoral process.
On the other hand, the also vice-president of the sector for Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace indicated that suffrage is the best way for Venezuelans to settle their political differences. “The battlefield has to be the polling place, the ballot boxes, not with bullets, violence, terrorism. The essence of a democratic process like ours is in suffrage,” he stressed.
“This will be a victory for Venezuela, for our democracy, which guarantees participation and the political plurality established in our constitution,” he highlighted in statements offered to Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), in which he also urged the people to exercise their right to vote massively.
