This Monday, June 22, the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, urged the conversion of the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress conceived by the Father of the Fatherland, Simon Bolivar, into a guide to guarantee the integrity of the peoples of the region.

“I think it's time, 200 years, two centuries after the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress, for us to convert, what for the time was one of the most important challenges proposed by our Liberator Father Simon Bolivar, and we turn him into the guide that takes the steps of each of our Peoples in our region, is the only way we can guarantee economic, political, cultural and social integration from the right to self-determination,” he said.

In this regard, during the closing of the International Colloquium “Homeland is America”, he stressed that the Panamanian Amphictyonic Congress of Bolivar today makes great sense, stressing that today the Peoples know what it is to have a government that gives them the sword and does not know their own history.

For this reason, he reaffirmed that “we cannot continue to postpone this historical contradiction, we have a responsible, respectful duty to make people understand what this boiling Latin America is about, which is defending a path of independence and freedom and that is not willing to surrender.”

He emphasized that he expects all sectors to be integrated into this path of independence and freedom. “I believe in that path and I hope that this Venezuela, a new Venezuela, with a politics of one concept, a different understanding of politics, will be joined by freedom, integration and union, as Bolivar and our great Liberators thought,” he said.

He reiterated that it is time to make that union a reality and to make it clear that a “united Latin America is not a threat, it is a hope for this continent and for humanity.”
