The Vice President of the Republic and Minister of the People's Power of Hydrocarbons, Delcy Rodríguez, denounced this Thursday that the warlike threats of the United States (USA) against Venezuela and Caribbean countries are aimed at stealing energy resources and disrupting gas agreements in the region.

“They seek to steal our hydrocarbon, oil and gas resources and intend to disrupt the country's gas agreements with the Caribbean,” Rodríguez said during his virtual participation in the ministerial meeting of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries.

In this regard, he reiterated that the United States “is selling fantasies to a specific government in the Caribbean, thinking that they can steal gas from Venezuela and give it to them”, referring to the manipulation of the Secretary of State of the North American country, Marco Rubio, of the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

Rodríguez praised the role of the organization, whose member countries represent “60% of the world's proven gas reserves” and Venezuela recognizes its voice on the matter. He emphasized that the Bolivarian nation will always defend “the sovereign use of its energy resources, oil and gas and its natural resources (...) and will advocate for the shared development of peoples.”
