Delcy Rodríguez on sanctions: It is their policy to seize the resources of the Peoples

This Tuesday, November 5th , the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted that criminal economic sanctions and blockades against sovereign peoples have “a very determined, very clear policy, which is to seize the energy resources of the planet's energy producers.”

In this regard, during the World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum, he recalled that of the 37,433 unilateral coercive measures that are applied to 30 nations, 91% of these sanctions are for Russia, Iran, Iraq and Venezuela, countries that produce energy, where the largest energy reserves on the planet are also concentrated.

“It is there to satisfy the energy voracity of those who, with this hegemonic imperialist policy, need energy for war, not that they need energy as the new world conceives it (...) it is not energy for the development of peoples, it is not the energy for the construction of a future that allows us to give happiness, it is the energy for war, for destruction, for isolation, for violence,” he said.

In the same way, he mentioned how they have also used large communication machines “to impose algorithms on social networks that privilege death, violence and war, it is a global policy conceived from the hegemonism of the global North against the global South”.

He reaffirmed that this is why a new world is rising and the BRICS group is part of that new world that fights for equality and respect for the sovereignty of peoples. “Don't give up because we don't give up,” he said.
