The
Executive Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Popular Power for Petroleum, Delcy
Rodríguez, ratified this Monday the defense of the
Venezuelan oil industry, in the face of recent attacks perpetrated by sectors of the national extreme
right and North American imperialism.
During the ceremony for the thirteenth anniversary of the Bolivarian Socialist Central of Workers of Venezuela, held in the state of Carabobo, Rodríguez stressed that “the plan to stop the supply of gasoline, diesel and gas to the Venezuelan people is nothing new and that is why it was important to be here with you today, to send the embrace of President Nicolás Maduro”.
He said that “we come
and are at important times for the defense of our industry, but also for
the defense of Venezuela,” and noted that “it has been a permanent desire
of the United States Government to obtain the largest oil reserves on this planet, it is not
something of today.”
Rodríguez recalled
the recent attack with a grenade, on November 10, on the
North Pier of the state of Zulia, “which sought to prevent sending the diet to the CRP for fuel
production”, and that same day in the afternoon “they caused an
explosion in the Petrocedeño improvement plant to paralyze diesel production. Fortunately,
we are prepared for contingencies and extremist attacks, they don't
surprise us.”
Later,
on November 11 at 10:20 in the morning, they caused an explosion at Venezuela's
main gas distributor, in the Muscar complex in Monagas state.
What were they looking for? Leaving the people without gas without domestic gas, without
gas for vehicles, without gas for the electrical system (...) These are the perverse plans
of extremism that always seeks to harm our people,” he criticized.
