Delegations from Venezuela and Colombia strengthen cooperation for the protection of children and adolescents

For two days, August
19 and 20, delegations from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the
Republic of Colombia hold a technical meeting to strengthen
cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding for
the protection of children and adolescents.
The meeting is
held at the “Antonio José de Sucre” Yellow House, in Caracas, where both
offices explain the internal procedures for obtaining
documents from children and adolescents; for the search for a family member and family
reunification; as well as the procedures for safe return, consular care
route and Plan Return to the Homeland.
The
opening remarks were given by the Colombian ambassador accredited to Venezuela, Milton
Rengifo, who highlighted the commitment of both Governments to strengthen mutual
support in all areas, and stressed that this meeting contemplates the
presentation of internal procedures relating to the execution of each
module of the Memorandum of Understanding, signed “on the basis of a renewed bilateral relationship, where cooperation
with regard to boys, girls and
adolescents” is paramount.
On the
Venezuelan side, she was headed by the president of the National Council for the
Rights of Children and Adolescents (Idenna), Soraida Ramírez Osorio; and the Director General of Consular Relations of the
Ministry of People's Power
for Foreign Affairs, María Rafaela Suárez Hernández; accompanied by representatives of the Great Mission Back to the Fatherland.
