Deportivo La Guaira, Deportivo Táchira and Metropolitanos lead the FUTVE League Clausura Tournament

The fifth round of the 2026 Clausura Tournament of the Venezuelan Football League (FUTVE) culminated in seven matches played between Friday 21 and Sunday 23 August, with a triple tie at the top of the standings between Deportivo La Guaira, Deportivo Táchira and Metropolitanos.

At the UCV Olympic Games, Metropolitanos FC scored a solid 3-1 victory against Deportivo Táchira. Christian Camarillo opened the score at 28', and although Jeferson Caraballo temporarily equalized in the first half (45+2'), the seniority of Nicolás “Miku” Fedor (48') and the shot of Kavier Ortiz (90+2') sentenced the purple victory.

For its part, Deportivo La Guaira led the day's win by giving Rayo Zuliano a resounding 1-4 at the Pachencho Romero Stadium in Maracaibo. Meanwhile, Caracas FC and Carabobo FC tied 1-1 at the Olympic Games in the capital city. Robert Hernández scored for the Ávila Reds at 24' and Darwin Machís at 34' for the Granate team.

Estudiantes de Mérida equaled 1-1 with Academia Puerto Cabello at the Metropolitan Stadium in the Andean state, Jesús Hernández scored 60' for the locals and Jiovany Ramos for 42'.

The date closed on Sunday at the Monumental Stadium in Maturín with a goalless gentlemen's pact between Monagas and Portuguesa.
