The president of the Standing Committee on Economics of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Jesús Fária, reiterated that the Public Consultation of the Bill for the Simplification of Special Contributions is being carried out throughout the country, with the working class, representatives of chambers, industries and public and private institutions.
“This proposal is an effort of the National Executive, which seeks to organize, with greater harmony, the issue of public finance,” he said in a press release from the AN.
He noted that it will also promote greater transparency and optimization in the management and use of public resources.
The project contains 11 articles, distributed in two chapters. It establishes a set of general provisions that highlight the ratification of the principle of the treasury unit, established in the Constitution and in the law that regulates the financial administration of the public sector.
Faria highlighted that the second chapter includes measures to achieve the objectives of the law, such as delegating to the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT) the powers for collection, oversight, verification and sanctioning power in compliance with the formal and material duties of special taxpayers in accordance with the Organic Tax Code.
The statement was offered at the Federal Legislative Palace, where the Commission held a day of consultation on the above-mentioned law with the Venezuelan productive sector, which committed itself to continuing to promote the country's economic development.
During the activity, the different sectors of the national economy offered their contributions to strengthening the project, approved in the first discussion last Thursday.
The conference was attended by representatives from the tourism, pharmaceutical, industrial, commercial, food, hydrocarbon, oil and automotive sectors and SENIAT spokespersons, who expressed their support for the project and agreed that it will bring significant progress to the country, with the process of simplifying tax procedures.
