This Monday, the Spanish journalist, Pascual Serrano, in statements for Venezuela News, spoke about desertions in the Ukrainian army, which amount to 80,000 soldiers retired from the war fronts.
Voluntary demobilization and desertion, between January and August 2024, there were 45,543 soldiers who did not return to the military ranks, according to data from the Office of the Attorney General of Ukraine, leaked to local media.
He also explained that only 5% of the uniformed personnel who make up the units since the summer of 2022 are active, since the rest died and others are injured.
These desertions in the Ukrainian army are punished for between 5 and 10 years in prison, but in this case, the Ukrainian authorities, when they manage to arrest the fleeing soldiers, do not take them to their cells, but return them to their combat units again.
He also pointed out that the regime of Vladimir Zelensky is forcibly recruiting citizens. According to local information, they are on the outskirts of different places where they apply the recruitment operation.
