Diosdado Cabello assured that behind the new seized arsenal are María Corina Machado and Iván Simonovis

The sectoral vice-president of Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reported that, after the weapons and explosives recently seized in the country, are the leader of the extreme right, María Corina Machado, and the fugitive from justice, Iván Simonovis.

During a press conference held this Tuesday, Cabello expressed his astonishment at the seizure of .50 mm sniper rifles, along with sound suppressors (silencers), as well as other weapons and explosives with great destructive power. “This (the rifles) has the seal of María Corina Machado and Iván Simonovis (...) It amazes us, not because we think that the opposition is not capable; these rifles are capable of doing a lot of damage,” he said.

In this regard, the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, assured that these “leaders”, in their attempts to seize political power, have lost their scruples and to finance and execute their plans of violence they are using drug trafficking, terrorist and paramilitary organizations.

However, he stressed that the confiscation of these weapons and explosives represents a great victory to ensure peace in Venezuela. “These specific victories of our FANB and security agencies are also a great victory for the people who fight and care for peace in our country,” he stressed.
