The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, at a press conference, said that constitutional reform “is a national consensus.”

In that sense, he explained that the constitutional reform is due to the need to “review some things”, and added that it will “be done within the framework of how things are done in Venezuela where the People are the ones who decide.”

He also reiterated that in the country “the creation of a custom-made constitution is over (...), the reform of the laws is pending, as are the family codes and all the laws that are going to be approved and that will be possible thanks to a great victory in the National Assembly”.

Finally, he added that in Venezuela “people go out to vote in peace, it's the best answer, I think those and those who could be making calls other than people not going out to vote look very bad; they went out to vote and were left wanting acts of violence and violence (...) The truth is that the whole world knows that there were elections in Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution is once again being consolidated with a resounding victory.”
