The various terrorist operations planned by the extreme right to attack the country have been financed with money from drug trafficking and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), said the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.
“We've talked about where the funding for these operations comes from. Now there is another source of income, in addition to drug trafficking. Now we are adding USAID funds,” he highlighted during a press conference held this Thursday.
In this regard, he did not rule out that funds given by the United States to the Venezuelan extreme right have been used to finance the terrorist operations they intended to carry out to prevent the swearing in, on January 10, of President Nicolás Maduro.
This so-called “Gold” action sought to attack the military forts Conopoima, in Guárico and Tavacare in Barinas. In addition, they contemplated the kidnapping of the magistrate of the Supreme Court, Maikel Moreno.
