“That the gentlemen of
the United Nations (UN) were here was a courtesy
of Venezuela, but these gentlemen believed the story that we are a
colony,” said the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of
Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello.
This statement was made by Cabello in support of the Bolivarian Government's
expulsion of UN human rights representatives who
were in Venezuela.
“Some UN gentlemen were expelled from Venezuela, some
supposed technicians who were in the country doing a job of monitoring
what was happening here about Human Rights. These gentlemen believed
the story that we are a colony, and they wanted to do things here in Venezuela
that only colonialists do,” said Cabello, during the press conference of the National Directorate
of the PSUV.
In that sense, he argued that Venezuela is no one's colony,
“we are free, sovereign, independent and that is not in question or
at stake. It's a root question, we are convinced and determined to be free.”
“They left Venezuela, the attacks will surely come, the issue of Human Rights is very sensitive and the right wing has an international media
to turn the perpetrators into victims,” he said.
Cabello said that after 25 years this Revolution is not afraid of anything or anyone, “we are not going to fall into blackmail, there are no untouchables in this country, the last names are over. Here the owner is the People of Venezuela.”
