The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela
(PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during the usual red awning press
conference, assured that Commander Hugo Chávez opened the dialogue in the country.
In that sense, he explained that “there was no dialogue of
any kind here, the dialogue began when Commander Chávez gave a voice to the People”, while assuring that President Nicolás Maduro has made countless
calls for dialogue and that, even, “when we do the grand consultation to ask
the People about the projects; that is dialogue, because that requires a prior debate
to see which projects are going to go to the consultation”.
He also said that the liberation of different right-wing
actors, initiated in December 2025 and instructed by the Head of
State, is the product of the dialogue guided by Nicolás Maduro.
Because of this, he reiterated that “no NGO has anything
to do with any release; I tell the family members this when (...) when PROVEA issues a bill for collection, they don't pay them anything; that I have nothing to
do with these decisions.
