During the swearing in of the La Peñita Peasant Brigade, the sectoral vice-president of Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, emphasized that the peasant people are the essence of everything, referring to the fact that they are a fundamental part of food production in the country.

“The peasant is the essence of everything; without the farmer, you can have your cars, you can have your buildings, your industries, but if you don't have the farmer to produce the food, there's nothing,” he said from the Carayaca parish, La Guaira state.

For this reason, he recalled that Commander Hugo Chávez, the first militia units he ordered to form were peasant women. At the same time, he pointed out that this sector was historically run over by the Fourth Republic and that with the Revolution it was vindicated.

“Hundreds, thousands of peasants were killed in the Fourth Republic just for thinking differently,” he said, recognizing that the peasant force has a conscience, forged many years ago, about working the land.

He stressed that the consciousness of the peasant force is “of being on the land, of producing, of working, of knowing the terrain, because that's where you know if the green cambur stains, when you have your feet on the ground”.
