During the activation of the Management Body for Integral Defense (ODDI) in Monagas state, Diosdado Cabello, Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, reiterated that “the weapons of the Venezuelan State are in the hands of the People”, as the legitimate guarantor of the country's sovereignty and independence.
He emphasized that this preparation does not interrupt the normal development of the country: “Companies must continue to operate, schools give classes, hospitals attend, and the people carry out their activities normally, but ready to face any situation.”
He emphasized that, given the pressing circumstances, “an overwhelming majority of Venezuelans — according to the most conservative polls, up to 93% — reject any attempt at aggression against Venezuela.” He pointed out that the percentage of those who betray their homeland “is very small in the face of Venezuela and the world,” and recalled that historically “they are the same families that since the Fourth Republic sucked the Venezuelan State, leaving the people aside.”
In this context, he emphasized President Nicolás Maduro's call for the comprehensive defense of the nation, in line with the historical legacy of the liberators. The president has assumed this responsibility along two fundamental lines: prolonged active resistance and permanent offensive,” he said.
He added that this strategy involves a continuous persecution of the enemy, inspired by the tactics of the Vietnamese people: “It's not about getting into a trench to wait, but about not letting them sleep, not letting them rest, leading them to despair.”
Cabello recalled the words of Commander Hugo Chávez: “This is a peaceful, but armed revolution,” and reiterated that “the Venezuelan people, regardless of Chavism or any party, have responded firmly to the call for defense, joining from all sectors.”
