Diosdado Cabello: We are in active, prolonged and permanent offensive resistance

The sectoral vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reaffirmed that the People of Venezuela have accepted President Nicolás Maduro's call for the comprehensive defense of the nation in prolonged active resistance and permanent offensive.

“The president spoke of the integral defense of the nation and the transition from unarmed struggle to armed struggle (...) under the concept of comprehensive defense of the nation, which is not getting into a trench and waiting to be attacked; it is to remain in prolonged active resistance, that everything works; and in permanent offensive,” he said during the Activation of the Management Bodies for Integral Defense (ODDI) in Miranda.

In this regard, he recalled that this action of the Head of State is carried out in line “with what Commander Hugo Chávez always told us, that this is a peaceful but armed Revolution. For what? To defend ourselves against anyone.”

For this reason, he emphasized that all deployment and mobilization exercises, in perfect popular-military-police fusion, are to protect the security of our means of defense, but also to guarantee the security of the most vulnerable sectors.

At the same time, he referred to the fact that the ODDI have already been activated in La Guaira, Carabobo, Falcón, Zulia, Aragua, Monagas, Anzoátegui, Bolívar, Delta Amacuro, Nueva Esparta and Sucre, to which today are joined by Caracas and Miranda.

He also reaffirmed that Venezuela will continue to be an impregnable territory. “They know, the aggressors, the imperialists, the traitors to the Fatherland, those who are waiting for them to come and do the job, know that under any circumstance (...) any action against our country, we have national unity and not only will we maintain it, but we will overcome,” he said.
