The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stressed this Thursday that the People remain firm and standing in the face of every imperial aggression in their intentions to seize the country's resources.
“We have learned a few things right now. We have learned to read signs. We can see the attacks from a long distance. We can see the intentions of imperialism because we have seen it in different ways, different presidents,” said Cabello during the popular mobilization to commemorate the 36th anniversary of the Caracazo, on February 27, 1989.
He pointed out that the aggressions against Venezuela have come from US governments, both republican and democratic, as well as from the European Union, which “every time they can a prime minister, a head of state. We have seen it. Their main interest has to do with the resources that Venezuela has,” he criticized.
However, Cabello emphasized that “Venezuela has been able to stand on its feet, and 36 years later we took to the streets again to complain, to protest for those who believe that with threats they will impose their judgment on the People of Venezuela, they will not succeed. We are fully aware of the role we have to play, not only for Venezuela, but for the free peoples of the world,” he said.
