Diosdado Cabello: You can be an opponent, what you shouldn't be is a patriot

The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, during his Con El Mazo Dando 547 program, reiterated that although Venezuelan democracy allows any citizen to oppose the Government in the face of a military invasion or violation of sovereignty, he cannot be a traitor to the Homeland.

“You can be an opponent all you want, what you can't be is a patriot,” stressed Cabello, who recognized Alberto Franceschi's nationalist position when questioning María Corina Machado's request to promote regime change in Venezuela through US military intervention.

He asserted that, although he does not share a political ideology with Franceschi, his attitude of rejection of María Machado's requests reveals his nationalist position.
