After 48 hours without drinking water supply, the service was restored in the municipality of San Fernando, benefiting some 30,000 families.

The interruption, as reported by the newspaper Última Noticias, was due to the failure of a bomb on the María Nieves bridge over the Apure River, which supplies the city.

The governor of Apure State, Wilmer Rodríguez, led the maneuvers to replace the pumping equipment, together with the Los Llanos hydrological plant (Hidrollanos), under the direction of Colonel Juan Turaren.

The operation required a large deployment of State security agencies, who restricted vehicle traffic over the María Nieves bridge during the work, so that in the early hours of today the work would be completed to replace the equipment and start pumping for the treatment and distribution of the vital liquid.
