Indigenous organizations in the province of Imbabura in Ecuador, where most of the protests against President Daniel Noboa have been registered, convened a large assembly with the objective of maintaining the mobilizations, rejecting the partial truce agreed by some indigenous leaders with the Government.
The call was made at the end of an assembly in the main square of the town of Otavalo, in which those present expressed their disagreement with the agreements reached by the leaders with the Executive, which involved lifting the blockades in exchange for starting dialogue tables to address the demands and demands of the indigenous people.
The assembly will be held at the point where the indigenous Efraín Fueres, the first of the three demonstrators shot dead in the midst of the repression of the protests in Imbabura, was killed.
