Ecuador: Shooting in Guayaquil penitentiary left one dead and seven injured

Last Wednesday, one death and seven injured were reported during a shooting at the Litoral Penitentiary located in Guayaquil, in southern Ecuador, Telesur said.
It is known that the shooting caused an immense riot that led to disorder and lack of control among the prisoners. Hours later, security officers entered with armored vehicles to restore order to the compound.
In this regard, military and police forces raided the prison by land and air. They used patrols, tanks and helicopters. They managed to calm the chaos in minutes.
The altercation followed the explosions of grenades in that same penitentiary, last Tuesday.
