The president of the Unified Workers Front (FUT) of Ecuador, José Villavicencio, rejected the statements of President Daniel Noboa, insinuating that mass protests against his government are financed with illicit money.
“We condemn the Government's position insinuating that the resources seized yesterday were for the protests. With that position, they only show their fear of organized voices that reject neoliberal policies that precarious life,” he said during a press conference.
He stressed that, despite Noboa's bad intentions to discredit the demonstrations, in the coming days they will announce new actions against the Government, Sputnik reports.
“There are no resources for education, health or to generate employment, but there are resources to buy tear gas bombs to repress Ecuadorians,” he emphasized.
