The former presidential candidate, Edmundo
González Urrutia, failed to comply for the third time with the summons made by the
Public Ministry (MP), thus incurring the presumption of flight danger.
González's summons were
scheduled for this Friday at 10:00 in the morning, to offer his statements
about the usurpation of the functions of the Electoral Power, after the creation of
a fraudulent website where altered electoral records were published after
the elections of last July 28.
The third summons specified
that, if we do not appear before the tax office on the specified date, “we
will be considered to be in the presence of a danger of flight, as provided for in article 237, and of the danger of obstruction,
provided for in
article 238 of the Organic Code of Criminal Procedure, so the corresponding arrest warrant will be processed”.
Previously, the Attorney General of the
Republic, Tarek William Saab, indicated that in the face of a new offense, the
MP would take the actions that legally correspond, so it
is expected that in the next few hours the institution will speak out to indicate
what new actions will be taken in this case.
