This Monday, the Havana Electric Company reported that it has managed to partially restore electricity service to about 50% of its customers, with 172 operating circuits that generate 317 MW

Early this Monday morning, the director general of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Lázaro Guerra Hernández, reported that in total there are 700 MW served throughout the country.

Guerra highlighted that the western microsystem is more consolidated, with unit number 8 of Mariel and the floating power plants in Havana, such as Mariel and Energás Boca de Jaruco, operating. This has allowed for a level of coverage in Havana, Mayabeque and Artemisa.

According to information reported by Telesur, the central microsystem has more than 200 MW and covers the provinces from Matanzas to Camagüey.

“The subsystems have been designed since the beginning of the total system crash and are working,” said the engineer, adding efforts to consolidate existing microsystems to improve the stability of the power supply.
