While the international media focuses on the fact that “Cuba was left without electricity”, from October 21 to 27, the capital of Ecuador, Quito, will have blackouts for 2 to 10 hours in different sectors, leading to five weeks of power cuts due to the country's energy crisis.

The planning schedule was released by the Quito Electric Company, due to the impact on the main hydroelectric plants, which has resulted in rationing that officially began on September 23 and predicts that the blackouts will continue at least until the first days of November.

According to the government of the extreme right wing Daniel Noboa, the hours of the cuts will be reduced starting next week, and it was proposed that by the week of October 28 the blackouts will last six hours and from the week of November 6 they will drop to four hours. This applies to residential sectors, since for industrial areas there are power cuts of up to 10 hours.

Meanwhile, Cuba, a country heavily blocked by North American imperialism and its allies, is recovering from the damage to the country's main thermoelectric plant.
