A new day of hostilities shook southern Lebanon and the Bekaa region this Tuesday, where a series of air strikes carried out by Israeli forces resulted in the death of at least 14 people and left an undetermined number of injured. The offensive, centered on the town of Mashghara, represents a critical episode in the conflict, marked by the violation of the ceasefire agreement that had been signed on April 17.
The intensity of the day was manifested through systematic bombings against various villages and towns. The air deployment included the use of drones to hit the Nabatieh al-Fawqa area, as well as precision strikes carried out by fighter planes against a motorcycle in Deir Qanoun, Ras al-Ain, and projectile launches over Deir al-Zahrani, Rihan and other civilian communities such as Kfar, Sarifa and Kawthariyat al-Ruz.
This upsurge in violence has considerably increased the total number of victims since the outbreak of hostilities on March 2. According to official data released by the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the cumulative balance currently stands at 3,185 people dead and 9,633 injured, figures that reflect the profound human impact caused by the continued fighting in the region.
The persistence of these attacks, despite previous diplomatic efforts to establish a ceasefire, generates growing concern about the stability of the area and the protection of the civilian population from military escalation.
While emergency teams continue to work in the affected areas, the situation keeps international organizations that are closely following the evolution of the conflict in Lebanese territory in a state of alert.
