Eugenio Suárez won his third MLB National League Player of the Week award

Venezuelan Eugenio Suárez, of the Arizona Diamondbacks, was named National League Major League Player of the Week.

The Creole was chosen after his outstanding work with wood in the period from 16 to 22 June.

During that week Suárez hit for .440 (25-11) with four home runs, 10 RBIs, two doubles, five scored, slugging of 1,000 and an on-base percentage of .464.

This is the third recognition of this style in his Major League Baseball (MLB) career, which all have been this season, after achieving it in the week of March 31 and April 28.

For 23 years, a Venezuelan has not been able to be recognized three times during a campaign, since Magglio Ordóñez (2002) did so with the Chic ago White Sox.
