The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, presented the tricolor to the athletes who will participate in the sixth edition of the 2024 Pan American Games for the Deaf in Brazil.
“In the name of President Nicolás Maduro, I give you this sacred flag that, with the help of our liberators, gave us a free and independent country,” Rodríguez said during the flag ceremony.
Yuriannyis Cariño from taekwondo and Félix Perdomo from basketball were responsible for receiving the banner from the Executive Vice President.
He also asked the athletes to be the beacon of Venezuelan youth. “Go to the Pan American Games for the Deaf and bring victory,” he added
“They have a disability, but they have hundreds of capacities and an infinite love for Venezuela and may that love translate into a great victory for our people. I know that we are going to be very proud of you who come out to these games with the flag held high,” he said.
Rodríguez emphasized that they are the gold generation of today, “they are the Venezuela of the future.”
